About our Club
The Standerton RC Club was officially launched on Sunday 4th August 2013.
What started off, in April 2013, with a couple of guys bashing their 1/10 Short Course Trucks at the local showgrounds has evolved into a dedicated venue for local off-road radio control car enthusiasts to meet, compete & have some great fun with their families & other RC car racers.
The off-road track, designed specifically to challenge drivers of 1/10 Electric Short Course Trucks & 1/8 Buggys, has been laid out to international specifications & is constantly being upgraded & maintained.
Members meet on Sunday afternoons from 15h00 for scheduled competitive racing or some "friendly" runs.
The club has recently installed floodlights, which enable Night Races to take place & the track borders have been replaced with PVC piping.

Club Rules
“Where Club refers to Standerton RC Club & the Club committee”
Rule A – Property Care & Respect
1. Property of the Club, including the clubhouse, race track, parking & surrounding area must be kept clean & litter free.
2. Persons responsible for damage to any parts of the clubhouse, race track, parking & surrounding area will be liable for the cost of repairs & will face suspension or banning from the Club premises.
3. In accordance with our lease, ONLY electric/battery operated RC cars are permitted at the club. No nitro/petrol powered vehicles or objects with wheels are permitted on the race track.
4. No excessive noise from any other form of vehicle is permitted on the club premises.
Rule B – Alcohol & Foul Language
1. Alcohol, in moderation, is permitted, BUT no alcohol may be sold. Persons suspected of being intoxicated or responsible for unruly or unacceptable behavior due to intoxication will be evicted from the premises & will face suspension or expulsion from the Club.
2. NO abusive or excessive foul language will be tolerated. Standerton RC Club promotes & encourages a ‘family atmosphere’. Persons found to be using foul language to the offence of other members will be asked to leave the premises & face suspension or expulsion from the Club.
Rule C – Club Organisation
1. The Club has the sole right to organize races, fun activities & fund raising events on the Club’s premises.
2. The Club has the sole right to rent out the Club premises & facilities at its discretion & reserves the right to monitor & regulate any such events as it sees fit.
3. It is the intent of the Club to run ALL EVENTS in a clean, sportsman like manner. Participants must therefore take care not to deliberately or repetitively ram, bump or disregard other racers on the track (during practice, qualifying, racing or fun events). Participants found in contravention of this rule will face immediate suspension & possible banning from the Club.
Rule D – Driver Rules
1. Safety First – Do Not switch on your transmitter or drive your car in the pit area.
2. Avoid costly repairs by trying to avoid contact (crashing) into other cars.
3. Respect all skill levels by being patient. Faster or more experienced drivers must show restraint when trying to pass a slower car. Remember, “you were a beginner once”
4. Should you crash & land up in an unmovable position, remove your finger from your accelerator to allow a marshal to correct your car. A marshal may not correct a car’s position back onto the track if the wheels are still turning (for safety reasons).
5. Respect towards the marshals is essential. No abusive language or comments may be directed at them.
6. Driver’s are not permitted to race their cars “up & down” the straights or drive into oncoming traffic while in the process of fine tuning their car.
7. A driver will be disqualified if it is found that the car body or battery is not secured onto the car OR if driving a race without a car body.
8. During organized race events, drivers will be required to marshal in the event commencing straight after their race. Failure to do so, without the chief track marshal’s permission, will result in penalties to your own lap times.
9. Driver’s may not leave the Driver’s Stand until the officials have called the ‘Race Over’
10. Driver’s are solely responsible for their cars & must have total control of their car until it has been safely switched off.
Please remember that it is the Club’s aim to provide a fair, competitive & enjoyable experience to drivers & spectators alike. Respect for the Club, it’s rules & fellow competitors is essential.
The above rules are a summary of what Standerton RC Club deems as a minimum rule guideline, for a full set of rules, please follow the link to the SARDA rules pages below.
